“If the percentage of your fear of failure goes down, you enjoy your game” – Suryakumar Yadav

SKY is going beyond the skies. His exceptional form continued and exploded in the last t20 with New Zealand. During his exceptional unbeaten century against New Zealand in the second T20I on Sunday, November 20, SKY astonished everyone with his class. He scored 111 runs on 51 deliveries. He said recently: “If the percentage of your fear of failure goes down, you enjoy your game”

After scoring 1000 runs in 573 balls against South Africa on 30 October 2022, Yadav became the fastest batsman to reach the 1000 runs mark in T20.

Virat Kohli implied it must have been another video game innings. He said in his congratulatory tweet to Suryakumar Yadav, that he wasn’t far off. He tweeted:

“Numero Uno showing why he’s the best in the world. Didn’t watch it live but I’m sure this was another video game innings by him.”

Suryakumar, a Mumbai-born batsman, scored the bulk of his runs with a string of extraordinary shots, ranging from a languid six over cover to several hoicks behind the wickets. Suryakumar said he had spent a lot of time practicing video games and cheat codes before mastering the shots.

During a recent episode of Chahal TV, he spoke to Yuzvendra Chahal and said:

“I would like to mention that, there is no cheat code, I have always been doing the same things that I do in the nets, and I play the same game wherever I play. I change nothing, just playing according to the format and with good intent, which is very important in this particular format.”

In July 2022, he scored his first T20I century against England in the third T20I of his career. He was named Player of the Match at Mount Maunganui for his 111 off 51 deliveries. His exploits are setting new standards for Team India over the last 12 months.

Suryakumar Yadav further added:

“If the percentage of your fear of failure goes down, you enjoy your game”

According to the right-handed batter, how he approaches the T20 format is as follows:

“I look to play with a positive intent in this format, I don’t think too much before batting because the time to think is during practice. You cannot afford to take too much pressure on the field, you just need to enjoy.”

Further Said:

“The one thing I have learnt since the time I have been playing, if the percentage of your fear of failure goes down, then you do not bring too much baggage, you enjoy your game, and that is what I try to do.”

During the first season of his IPL career, Suryakumar piled up 512 runs for Mumbai Indians. He finished as the highest run-getter for the team. In the coming IPL 2023, he will be a player to watch. Now often referred to as the new 360 of the game after AB Devilliers.
