Many Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have purchased teams in different T20 leagues worldwide to expand their followings. At the same time, the owners of Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders have bought teams in the UAEs International T20 League (ILT20). As per the report, some IPL franchises recently held informal talks with the players through their administrations to search out how much time it would take to convince them to ditch their Cricket Australia contracts and agree to be a T20 globe-trotter with their IPL franchise.

The new edition of the Indian Premier League 2023 is expected to start in the last week of March 2023. The IPL 2023 auction is scheduled to take place in mid-December.
