PSL 8 Draft – Picks of PSL Teams
In this year’s PSL 8, a variety of stars from around the world will debut. Big names like ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2022 winners Adil Rashid of England and Matthew Wade of Australia will also make their PSL debuts, as will Sri Lanka’s 2022 Asia Cup winners Wanindu Hasaranga and Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
During the tournament’s eighth edition, held across four cities between February 13 and March 19, 2023, Jimmy Neesham of New Zealand and Tabraiz Shamsi of South Africa will make their tournament debut.
His 2,887 runs in 210 T20I matches at a strike rate of 142 and 688 runs in 60 T20Is at a strike rate of 159.6 led to Neesham becoming a Zalmi after impressing the franchise in his international career.
At the PSL Player Draft 2023, 2019 champions Karachi Kings under Imad Waseem(though he was not at the Draft due to LPL) chose Hasaranga. The spinner has claimed 129 wickets in his 129-match T20 career at an economy rate of 6.72.
On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators’ Hasaranga Quetta Gladiators’ Rajapaksa, Despite having played 35 T20Is and 143 T20s, Rajapaksa holds an identical strike rate of 135.
While 2020 winners Peshawar Zalmi chose the Australian Wicket Keeper batsman Mathew Wade. As a T20I and T20 cricket player, he has 132 and 135 strike rates, respectively.
The good news for Multan Sultans is that Adil Rashid has joined the team, who has taken 93 wickets in 92 Twenty20 Internationals with an economy rate of 7.42 and 255 wickets in 233 Twenty20s with an economy rate of 7.43.
Key Note: Four franchises also picked teenagers from the Pakistan Junior League.
Peshawar Zalmi picked Mardan Warriors’ Haseebullah, Lahore Qalandars selected Bahawalpur Royals’ Shawaiz Irfan, and Quetta Gladiators chose Mardan Warriors’ Aimal Khan.
