The stadium is formerly known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cricket Stadium, and it is located inside Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel sports enclave in Ahmedabad, India.
Narendra Modi Stadium was inaugurated in 1983. It has become the regular venue for international matches. The stadium was closed in 2015 and opened again in 2020 after a complete rebuild. On 24 February 2021, the stadium was renamed after the name of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
