IPL is now the 2nd most valued sporting league in terms of per-match value!” Furthermore, TV and digital media rights are divided into four packages. All these packages are discussed below.
IPL Broadcasting 2024
In this sedition, I will describe how BCCI has divided the broadcasting rights of IPL into 4 different packages in detail.
Package A
Package A, for television rights, had a base price of INR49 crore per game, and after the bidding war, the price was increased to INR57.5 crore per game. From 2023, Star India will pay INR4255 crore for 74 matches to the BBC annually.
Package B
In Package B, the digital rights for the region of the Indian subcontinent, Viacom18, will pay INR 20,500 crore for five years. It will equal INR50 crore per game. It will have a 51.51% rise from its base price. Breaking this down for 74 matches, Viacom18 will pay INR3700 crore for 74 matches of IPL to the BCCI.
Package C
Furthermore, this might increase to INR4200 crore for 84 matches, and lastly, INR4700 crore to BCCI if the number of IPL matches touches 94. In Package C, Viacom18 will Pay an extra INR2991 crore for digital rights 18 non-exclusive m. marquee games.
Package D
The rest of the world’s overseas TV and digital rights in Package D. Times Internet and Viacom18 will pay INR1058 Crore (Total) for five years. The base price per match is INR3 crore.
