What are your thoughts on whether Najam Sethi Could be the Next PCB Chairman Replacing Ramiz Raja? As a result of Pakistan’s back-to-back Test defeats against England at home, Ramiz Raja may now be removed as the chairman of PCB. Former premier Imran Khan appointed him in September 2021. 

When you look at Raja’s career, He captains Pakistan for the 18th Test and 12th ODI between 1984 and 1997. He scored 8,674 runs in 255 international matches. In past, Raja also served as the PCB’s Chief Executive from 2003-2004.

He represented Pakistan on the ICC Chief Executives Committee and is currently serving on the MCC World Cricket Committee. He is the fourth former Pakistan international cricketer and 36th chairman to head the PCB. Raja had served cricket as the voice of Pakistan in the form of a broadcaster.

Najam Sethi is the most probable name that could replace Raja. Najam Sethi served as PCB Chairman in 2013 and 2014. He stepped down as PCB Chairman when Imran Khan became prime minister in 2018. PM Shehbaz is also expected to approve the PCB’s 2014 constitution, which will lead to the return of departmental cricket.

Najam Sethi met PM Shehbaz Sharif, which people and analysts think could be the final signal to sack Ramiz Raja. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office has received a summary from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC). The summary is regarding the sacking of Ramiz Raja as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). According to sources.

“PCB’s constitution of 2014 should be restored. After its restoration, departmental sports will be revived,” PM words, according to sources.

Ramiz’s removal as chairman is also being pushed by a lobby led by disgruntled former PCB members.

“Yes, something is going on, definitely. Rumors are strong that Najam Sethi who recently met with the premier at a function in Lahore might be called up to replace Ramiz as Chairman,”  One Former PCB Chairman Said, According to Sources.
