Injured in a car crash on Friday morning, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is set to miss a considerable amount of cricket time. According to reports, the 25-year-old left-handed wicketkeeper-batter will miss at least six months of cricket. Rishabh Pant Will Probably Miss the Australia Test Series And IPL 2023
In February-March, Pant will not be available for the four-match Test series against Australia and the IPL 2023. Cricketer Rishabh Pant, injured in a life-threatening car crash near Roorkee last Friday morning (December 30), is likely to miss a significant amount of time from the game.
His last appearance against Bangladesh for India was in Dhaka’s second Test of the two-match series last week. He crashed his car into a divider near Roorkee on Friday morning.
As a result of this unlucky accident, the cricketer sustained multiple injuries. However, he is not in danger and is currently being treated at Dehradun’s Max Hospital. On Friday afternoon, BCCI announced that Pant had suffered two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and abrasion injuries to his wrist, ankle, and toe.
“Pant will take at least three to six months to recover from the ligament injury. And if it’s severe, he may take more time. Further evaluation can be based on his detailed injury report,”
In response to a query about Pant’s injuries, Dr. Qamar Azam of AIIMS-Rishikesh’s sports injury department told TOI the injuries were severe.
When we look at the IPL 2023 team players list, the Delhi Capitals got a huge set of young players. So, who could replace Pant as Delhi Capitals’ captain and regular keeper? David Warner is the most probable name for captaincy. Phil Salt or Dinesh Rana would be the ideal player for gloves.
